This year was the first Country Dance Festival organized by
Jennifer Kelly. There were two group categories - social and performing -
& two adjudicators from outside the Bay Area. Social groups performed a
reel (chosen from Captain MacBean's Reel, General Stewart's Reel or My Mither's
Coming In), a jig (chosen from The Rakish Highlandman, Duke of Athol’s Reel or
Miss Nancy Frowns), and a strathspey (chosen from The Balmoral Strathspey,
Donald Bane or I'll Gang Nae Mair tae Yon Toon). Performing groups chose a
reel from Minard Castle, College Hornpipe or Argyll's Bowling Green; a jig from
Bob Sanders, Muirland Willie or La Flora; and a strathspey from Alltshellach,
The Stoorie Miller or Braes of Breadalbane.
